We aimed to develop packaging that enhances the final product, creates a strong visual impact to boost brand perception, provides a positive consumption experience, minimizes physical storage impact, and allows quick assembly.
To create the ideal packaging for such a rich dish regarding textures and cultural significance, we conducted detailed field research to understand the journey of the consumer and the food truck, along with multiple tests and prototypes.
After 15 days of work, we designed packaging that visually resembles a canoe, making it easier to handle the acarajé. The ergonomically designed packaging allows customers to hold it with one hand and eat with the other while on the street without needing a table or support. In addition to considering stacking and space optimization within the food truck to streamline service, we included a foldable chilli container that doesn’t use glue and prevents contamination of the acarajé. This container, which holds 5 ml of chilli, adds value to the final product.
