Hélène-Boullé School is a public elementary school located in the heart of the Villeray neighborhood in Montreal. With approximately 380 students from preschool to elementary levels, the school is known for its welcoming environment and strong commitment to academic excellence. Its current educational plan, active until 2027, emphasizes values such as respect, inclusion, collaboration, and humor, reflecting a student-centered approach focused on well-being and holistic development. The school offers a wide range of support services, including access to special education teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, and partnerships with local community organizations.
Redesign the logo and institutional visual identity of École Hélène-Boullé based on the perception of its community. The goal was to highlight the school’s strengths, modernize its image, and strengthen the emotional connection with parents, students, and partners. It was essential to balance tradition and innovation while ensuring the brand could be applied consistently across all touchpoints.
Quantitative research with students and staff, along with qualitative interviews with parents, helped identify the most valued attributes of the school. Using the Golden Circle methodology, brand archetypes, and a strategic identity-building approach, I developed a new logo, color palette, typography, and visual direction that reflected the school’s essence. The new identity was implemented across various communication materials such as presentations, the 2025/26 school agenda, branded merchandise, signage, and printed stationery.
The new visual identity increased brand recognition and perceived value among both internal and external audiences, strengthening the sense of belonging and pride within the school community. The alignment of the Service de Garde logo with the parent brand enhanced institutional cohesion. The positive feedback from users confirmed the success of the solution, positioning the school as a visually modern, welcoming, and value-driven institution.
