The Ilhas do Rio Project began its activities in the Cagarras Islands Natural Monument (MONA Cagarras) in 2011. Since then, scientific research has been conducted, resulting in essential information for managing Rio de Janeiro’s first Marine Protected Area. In its new phase after ten years of research, the Ilhas do Rio Project needed institutional material to present its achievements, results, the new brand, research areas, and the environmental education area.
Create a brochure for the project’s institutional presentation, highlighting the landscape’s visual beauty without devaluing the information acquired through 10 years of research and environmental education work.
The subjects are segmented through an information hierarchy to enhance the reading order. The emphasis on panoramic photos was crucial to improving visitors’ experience of Ipanema Beach, where they can marvel at the view of the archipelago.
The brochure’s unusual horizontal format enhances each photo. It presents a poster-like structure when fully opened while segmenting the subjects to give them their respective highlights.
